Creating Community Value 

SDIEA was founded in 1998 and incorporated in 1999, as a not for profit organisation, providing a coordinated approach to structured work placements as part of the Vocational Education & Training system in schools. Since then SDIEA have focused on developing and delivering skills training and experience to improve the lives of young people on the Southern Downs.

Employing more than 50 people each year in permanent & voluntary positions and with over 2000 graduated clients, Delivering programs funded by the Queensland Government- Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative, including Get Set for Work, Youth Skills, Work Skills Traineeships and Community Work Skills courses, facilitating PCYC’s Braking the Cycle program as well as a growing number of short courses and tickets to meet local skillset demand.

 

Governed by a NFP Board, SDIEA is committed to improving access to skills training and support and has board members responsible for industry, education, youth and community.
